Lone Ship, GreenlandI made this from the deck of our vessel as we moved through the waters off western Greenland. The sea was so flat that morning it barely registered as liquid. A tall ship was crossing our path maybe two or three kilometres out, threading between scattered icebergs, and this thick bank of fog had settled across the horizon behind it like a wall. The light was completely diffused. No shadows, no hard edges, just soft grey tones grading into white. I
